Yeah, they're the good old 241 castings. That sucks, guess I'll have to wait to have them ported.
Or you can try it yourself. The kit is only $85 and it will give you something to do. Really you can get those heads now a days very cheap so you dont need to worry about screwing them up. Less than $200 delivered to the lower 48. I'll sell you a set and the kit for $200 delivered.

I don't see why he couldn't pick up at least 10-15 rwhp. Think about it. You are adding a much better flow design plus the extra half point of compression. You'd gain more than 5rwhp just by the added compression. Think about this.

Z06 w/bolt on's

LS1 with 2002 z06 cam and bolt-ons
I didn't want to search all day, so they aren't equal graphs by any means. The 2002 z06 cam was bigger. Even then there is a 10rwhp difference. Anyhow I can garuntee you will pick up at least 10rwhp with the z06 heads.

Id say anywhere from 10 to 20 RWHP depending on the cam. However, I doubt that he really has ls6 heads. The 2004 GTO came with an LS1 motor, which would have 241 casting heads. The 2005 GTO came with the LS2 and the 243 casting heads. The original poster stated this was an 04 goat.

04 GTO is actually an LS6 block, LS6 Intake, LS1 TB & LS1 Heads. Still an LS1 though

I agree with trimming the valve boss, but a lot of folks recomend that you dont touch the short side radii. Instead they suggest you raise the roof near the intake and headers just a hair to make more of a straight shot to the valve.

If youve got information saying to do otherwise, please share the wealth!

Sorry for threadjacking...

98-00 heads would see a larger gain, but you have 01/02 241 casting heads. They flow pretty good.

My 2004 GTO has 243 on the head casting.

What model of heads are these. LS1, LS2 or LS6.

I am confused.

Thanks

243 heads are the castings found on both ls2 and ls6 engines. A 2004 GTO should come with an ls1 engine which would come from the factory with 241 castings. Are you sure its a 2004 that came from the factory with 243 castings???

Send them to patriot....Its going to be a waste of energy for the small amount of gains you will get off of those heads stock.
