You will get increased noise from the valvetrain with a larger cam and stiffer springs. However, it should not be insanely loud. Usually ticking from the engine is one of a couple things: pistons hitting valves (cam installed with timing off), rockers not torqued down tight enough, or the infamous piston slap (which is often interpreted as valve train noise but in fact is not). If it is a faint ticking it could also be AIR check valve that's bad. Could be a number of things, try and narrow it down some more.

With faster ramps, there will be an increase in valve clatering (sewing machine). That is more pronounced with stock, non adjustable rockers.
Aftermarket adjustable rockers will quiet things down provided proper lifter preload is on the ball.
