I was undercharged by someone there because of a little misunderstanding that was my fault. And even though the communication error was my fault, they stuck by the original price they gave me which was about 150 less. They are a great bunch and i would do business again with them any day.
Hi bigman,

Did you get a h/c package from them? If so, what were the results? Thanks for your input!

How long did they keep your car for? Just curious. Haha, i hear about leaving with a bunch more power. But i've tatooed it into my brain that all i'm getting is a h/c and all the extras required. no stroker and no f/i...that's the mantra i repeat!!!
The cam is a Comp. Cam XER 224/228 581-588 114+1. The drivability is fantastic. The idle is almost too tame for me. It lopes a little, but a lot of people don’t notice it. It is pretty much a “sleeper”. People think I have a stock C5 with a cat back exhaust, until they see it go.

The bottom end torque is great. I never dynoed the car when it was stock. I did dyno with only headers and Blackwing. With the heads and cam it has about the same torque (or a little more) until 3000-3500 rpms. Then it really starts to increase over the headers/Blackwing only numbers. The car pulls fine even as low as 1500 rpms.

I left my car with ECS for about two weeks. It didn’t take them that long to complete the job. I live about three hours away from their shop so it was more a matter of finding someone willing to give me a ride so I could pick the car up.

Those are crazy numbers from just a cam (equalizer). But how is the driveability in the low end? does it pull as much, less or more then the stock cam? my main concern is that i don't want an off/on switch of a n/a motor.

thanks for filling me in!
Sorry for taking so long to respond, I wud have to say the driveability for my bro's SS would be somewhat difficult to deal with on an everyday basis b/c it has heavy lopes and pulls less hard in the low end than the stock cam. We were looking to gain as much HP as possible.
I cant answer for my friend with the vette b/c ive had no experience driving it. However, im sure TTP wud be able to tune it more to your liking and still pull over 400 cam only HP with driveability.
As far as the Vette Docs, I am not doubting their craftmanship what so ever; They have won vette competitions and so on. Maybe they were having a bad day or something, but when my friend called that day they told him to stop wasting their time with only wanting to do 2K worth of work.

Honestly, your best bet is to give a call to any of these shops and get a feel for how busy they are cause you can find the power and quality your looking for at any of these places.

they are all top notch. I'm actually from long island btw.

Anywho, there is a dude pete(?) with a yellow C5 putting down a **** ton of power and I honestly thought the car was stock with a catback. it was amazing. fugger ran low 10s or some crazy **** like that on the bottle!

The vette doctors are closer, but IIRC they were expensive. I was talking to a guy with a 383 LT5 from there. He loves it.

I have no idea who TTP is.

Keep in mind- just because someone has a big number engine out there it doesn't mean that they are going to do the best job on your car.

find someone with results you want and compare THOSE results- not who makes the most power (not that it should discredit them either).

For that reason, I like cartek. I like lots of power that is driveable and petes car was almost whisper quiet.

It seems like all their cars come out perfect and they do do a really good job. Even other shops I talk to have good things to say about them

yeah i'm one of those people that fell for that "Sleeper" C5 he has. we met one night out cruising and i seen him in the turn lane hoping he was going to hit the highway. i was thinking to myself MmmmmMmMMmmm stock C5 easy pickens even when i got next to him 2 lane left turn and when we both cracked in it i heard the car come alive and knew i was in a world of hurt although we stayed put nose to nose from 20 till about 50 maybe. we both were spinning BAD. i was on DR's he was on the run craps. then we both went to the highway with a friends LS1 11 sec TA intow and well i'll let you read the rest but from 50 or so to 120 he was a good 8+ cars out front of me. my ole bolt on C4 runs high 12's and i have never lost to a stock C5 down low or on the roll.

like he said this car if you didn't know just sounds like a catback stock C5 unless he starts it up while your there or brings the rpm's past 3k. i've ridden in it and it is so tame cruising around town but once Mike hammers it that car is a monster! ever since this night we've been good friends.
