Default LS6 Lightweight Valve Wear Issue???

Someone has alerted me to an issue with pre- mature wear on the top of the valve stem, which is why GM got away from them. Has anyone got any knowledge of this issue or experience? I was looking hard at a pair of LS6 heads because of the lightweight valves and this news sort of takes the wind out of the sails

yeah i read something a while ago ablout something being screwy with the lightweight valves, cant remember but i think it was something about the hollow valves creating a resonance problem. The ls7 uses sodium filled exhaust valves, but solid titanium for the intake valve,so it probably has something to do with the intake valves.

I don't think that's true. lsx valvetrains use roller-rocker arms and hyd. lifters adjusters, all these componets make valvetrain wear extreamly minimal.

the stock rocker arms do not have roller tips on them. only roller trunions. so, you still get the scrubbing that's associated with the non-roller tipped rockers on the tips of the valves.

I am wondering if it is an issue with the locks. Does anyone know if the locks are on solid material, or hollow? This is the first I have heard of this, but the second time it was mentioned to me by a separate source that there were issues with these valves.

From what I understand reading about this issue is unless your beating on it every second of its life (ie full race duty) the wear factor is negligible.
