Default Too much oil?

I got the oil changed the other day and i told the guy 5.5 quarts but obviously he didn't get it and put 6 full quarts in. Do I need to drain some out or is it ok?
Thanks in advance

Yeah I run 6 every time I change my oil. It tends to slosh around in the oil pan, especially on a road course. There have been some proven oil starvation problems, mostly concerning the deisgn of the oil pan.

That's why as posted above, most people on the track run 7 qts.

Anyways, you'll have no problems running 6.

No need to really. The pan is plenty big to run 6qts with a regular filter.

I just switched over to the K&N 2006 my last oil change.

You can run 6 qts. with either filter, NO problem at all.

It's been proven that based on the size of the oil pan on the LS1 f-body, that you can safely run up to an extra 1.5 quarts if you wish. I run an extra quart on my C5 (I run 7.5)

I put 6 in mine and my friends thought I was nuts, but it runs fine and I find that its right were it should be by the time I need to change the oil again since the LS1s tend to burn a little oil

K@N 2006 filter (the taller one) with 6qts. I've never tried 7, but I'd be leary of the crank spraying that extra quart everywhere and creating air bubbles in the oil. Maybe someone on here with experience can chime in on that one.

The GM Manual for my Dad's 2004 Sierra specs 6 quarts for an oil change. I run between 6.25-6.5 in my F-body with the long filter.
