Tips on cutting SS hose

Does anyone have any tips on how to cut SS hose to keep the SS braided cover cut clean.

I wrap it with electrical tape and use a cut off wheel (dremel works good also).

Wrap the hose in masking tape where you are cutting. Then cut through the tape and it will help the braid to cut cleaner without fraying.

I tried using a chop saw and it seemed to fray it pretty good on the bottom side. I guess I will try a grinder with a thin cutoff wheel.

This is what I do(dremel). I think I read in one of my car mags to take a sharp chisel and give it a whack with a hammer haven't tried it yet though.

The shop where I get my braided hose wraps it with reinforced tape then cuts it with bolt cutters.

you should use a 32 teeth/ inch hacksaw blade when cutting it .. wrap it in masking tape and cut it in the middle of the tape

DO the cold chisle and it'll work Great. You'll want to grind roughly a 45 deg bevel on the chisel. You'll also need some Aluminum to do it too. I saw that in a Mag and gave it a shot. Works great.

Wrap tight with silver duct tape and use an air powered thin cut off wheel. You can cut without one frayed wire.

Whack it w/a cold chisel on a piece of 1/4" (minimum) thick aluminum (6" x 6" will do). Make sure the chisel has a good edge on it.

I'd say use a cutoff wheel on a dremel, or something to that effect.

I used a cutoff wheel in a grinder, 3m masking take and worked awesome. Some grease ont he fittings and they slid right togther. I was really amazed at how easy they went together.

from my experience this seems to leave the cleanest cut

i wrap it tightly in that strapping tape, i also put TWO 32 tpi blades in my hacksaw going in opposite directions. i havent tried the chisel method but i'll have to test it
