Default Found out why my motor developed..

Since 2 track outtings ago my car developed a valve tick. I didnt really have time to figure it out and I assumed it was a bent valve. Took the engine out and when I removed the valve cover I found 3 rockers has lost their needle bearings. The sides were blownout and the needle bearings were in the oil pan.

That's strange, I didn't expect Jesel to have that problem.

I believe the Jesels are going in his new motor. That is an odd situation but everything has it's breaking/failure point.

I guess stock rockers, 7000+ rpm and XER lobes don't mix.

Yes but you've had them on there how long? I'd have to say they held up quite well !

They have less than 2000 miles on them. I have only put 7k on the car since I have owned it.

Everything else looks to be ok. cam lobes are fine and the pushrods look good. Can't imagine how much power it was down, it went 10.12 @ 140.1 last time out with a slow 60'.

Are there any alternatives/options for replacing stock rockers other than expensive aftermarket rocker arms?

Yes, get with Nate. He offers a Harland Sharp modification, in which they replace the trunion on your stock rockers. I had it done, although my LS1 isnt finished yet

Yes true but you must realize that Phil is probably pushing 600+ rwhp. IMO, the stockers are good for 400-500 rwhp. If someone isn't pushing those numbers why buy a set of 500 dollar rocker arms?

The needle bearings falling out is a common problem. I'm trying to figure out why power would mean anything for rockers. I would think they would be rpm related.
