Default LS6 Valley cover

I got a built LS6 block, but I am using a LS1 valley cover. I was reading that to use a LS6 valley cover on a LS1 block you need to grind some of the block. Then if using a LS6 block and a LS1 valley cover, would anything not seal/fit right? I have over 1000 miles on the motor, and it seems fine from what I can tell. Thanks

some LS1 blocks have an extra casting block in the valley area that needs to ground down to clear the LS6 valley cover because of the intergrated check valve, but both covers can be used on an LS6 block with no modifications...you're fine

Not a problem to worry about. Some LS1 blocks have a boss that has to be cut about a 1/2" so the cover will lay flat in the valley. My LS1 didn't have it and the LS6's don't either. You would know if it was a problem, because you wouldn't be able to bolt your intake down.

So when I am swapping the intake to a Fast, I can just swap the valley cover as well and it should only take a few minutes, since I dont have to cut anything right. thanks

A buddy of mine had a 408 built by Texas Speed and he reused his LS1 valley tray without having to cut any part of the block for it to fit properly.
