I'm mainly concerned with area under the curve power. If you can find me another cam besides these two let me know. I have a full set of bolt-ons. My current cam (tsp231/237) kicks in around 3,000rpms and pulls to 6,700rpms. I never go past 6,000rpms (105k mile engine) so this is not really the cam for me. Plus I don't go to the track, it's just an all around daily driver. I can't enjoy the power till 3,000rpms so it's really useless on the street. I have all the supporting mods to handle the cam so I'm just looking for a direct cam swap and proof that xe-r lobes are better than the lobes on the tr224. I'm open to all ideas, but I want proof that it works, not he said she said stuff. I'm really not wanting to lose my max power (386 before pulley and TB) but if it's necassary to get more under the curve so be it. I'm looking for at least 380rwtq also.
I have a TR224/224 .563/.563 112LSA with LT headers, high flow cats, CAI, cat-back and a tune. I pulled 375RWHP/363RWTQ on the dyno recently. So, the TR224 will probably put you down a bit on peak numbers. But....the good news. From 2400RPM-5800RPM the car put down over 350lbs RWTQ. The torque curve never dropped below 325lbs from off-idle to 6500RPM. That is definetly something you can use on a daily driver HP peaked at 6100RPM.

As for springs, I think you should be fine with the PRC's. I personally have 918's with titanium retainers, but I doublt you'd see any performance gain by switching. In fact, you're probably better off with the dual springs.

I have no experience with the XE-R cams and lobes. So.....

I have no idea when I'm going down to RevX. I just put this thing in friday and let me tell you it is a nice change. I really want to get this thing tuned and see the dyno of it to see what I actually gained. So far I am happier with it. I'm not sure if it makes as much power though. The transition is smoother from low rpms to high rpms so I've not yet been able to figure out which one actually pulls the most. I can tell you the area under the curve power is not even comparable (sotp wise). This cam has much better street manners and still has good lope in the idle, didn't lose any, it just got deeper. The sound of this cam is better throughout the entire rpm range. I am glad I made the switch. Took about 4 hours.

Im not sure it's worth the change.

Personally, I went with the TR224 over the comp cams XE-r lobes due to the agressive ramp rate of the comp cam. I did not want to have to replace springs more often due to the excessive wear on them. Also did not think the hassle was worth the ~5rwhp gain.
