Default A Few Build ?'s

Well I'm building my first Gen III motor. It is an 01 LS1. I've already got the lower end done. Mahle forged flat tops zero decked, 3.908 bore. Manley forged rods 6.100". And stock stroke crank. What I'm wondering is, are the Ls6 heads worth the $, or just put the money into porting and springs. Also can you mill (angle or flat) the Ls1 heads to get down to a 64cc chamber? I'm also using the Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake/ignition with a 750 demon. Has anyone seen a cam builder that makes one strickly for carb motors, or will I have to have one custom ground? I've been reading and searching for about 3 weeks on here now and can't seem to find a definate answer. Thanks in advance!
Matt

To help you out some the LS6 heads some say are worth anywhere from 6-10 hp because of the larger intake runners and smaller more effecient combustion chambers. Yes you can mill the LS1 heads .030 and you'll acheive 10.8:1 compression with a cometic head gasket, not sure of the thinckness but I think its a .040. Hope this helps good luck

These pistons have 4cc reliefs in them. With the heads milled .030 will there be any clearance issuses?

That will depend on the cam you end up using.
