I've done a cam swap on an F-body, but I was wondering if a cam swap for a 5.3L truck is very different from an F-body? I would imagine it would be easier because you have more room to work with, but what about the engine fan? Is it electric like ours, or the old school type that bolts to the water pump? Anyone know of any good write-ups for a truck?

 

It should be alot easier since you do have some extra room. Process should be about the same as an F-body. The 99-04' have clutch style fans while the 05' got an electric fan setup.
Do some searching over at Performancetrucks.net and I'm sure you'll find all the answers you need.
I did my cam swap when my LS1 was out and waiting to go in.
