ok thanks everyone for the replies. my supplier has the crane 1.8's in stock so im gonna try to get them on before saturday. saturday im taking the car out for the last time of the season. if i dont get them on by then then we'll have to wait till next season to see the results. i hope i get them on. my car will be a great test car for these. i have tons of passes on it, its very consistant, and it hasnt changed in over a year. plus i had it at the track a couple weeks ago, so the air should be around the same da.

thanks

Absolutely. The stock valve springs are really on the weak side and are barely adequate for a bone-stock setup.

When you install, make sure you follow Vinci's installation instructions to the "T". Most people error when setting zero lash, remember just barely lift the roller tip and once the clicking is gone don't turn the nut anymore. It will still move side to side, it is only the up and down motion you are eliminating.

i just read the instructions by vinci's. it says 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 turns of preload after zero lash? wow...that seems like a lot. i had my stockers set up at 1/4 turn of preload and its always worked great. just wondering why they want so much preload. i dont want to pump up a lifter and hang a valve open.

because of thread pitch differences is why. crane's instructions tell you 2 full turns. don't know how you set your stockers to 1/4 turn when they are to be torqued down to 22 ft-lbs. vinci/crane are adjustable.
