Z06 cam upgrade
Is it worth the money to have this cam installed in either my 98 TA 115k (intake, exaust, 100shot) or my bone stock y2k vette with 50k miles.
What kind of gains can I expect from this cam?
The car drives totally stock with tuning, it had a little surge with the stock tune. You need the limiter moved at a minium.
I've dropped almost .5 and picked up over 3 mph total so far with more tuning to do, sorry I don't have any dyno numbers to give yet, I should within the next 2 weeks though.

The base circle of the LS6 cam is smaller so many people say to run a longer pushrod (7.45 I believe) but many others say you don't, i've run mine over a year now with stock length and no problems at all, if I went with the longer ones the valvetrain might be a little quieter, thats about it.
Other than that a tune would be great to have.
Your Trans Am would probably like the LS6 cam being that you run nitrous and the LS6 cam has a wide LSA.

Ill take your advise and get the pushrods.
Any guesses as to gains? Im still running the stock exaust manifolds.
As for the car the cam came from he upgraded to
In 228 ex 232 @.050 sep 112.
Personally I dont like the way is barely holds idle at startup.
Is this considered big? Or does it just need more tuning

For comparsion:
Last year with mods in sig minus the LS6 cam, ASP pulley and 4.10's my car went 12.71 @ 109 ONCE.. usually 12.80's at 108
After the cam, pulley and 4.10's the car has gone a best of 12.48 @ 109.92 with basically stock tuning.. just a limiter move..
Now, with just a little tuning it has gone 12.27 @ 111.91 with a very safe A/F (12.3 or so)..
All these times are between around 3500-4500 ft DA
With with the LS6 cam and a good tune I think you should see 30 rwhp pretty easy, even with manifolds.
Do a search, there are some good results on here with manifolds, as well as headers and the rest of the bolt on's.
I'll have to update you when I go to the dyno for tuning.
