Default Last minute check before new engine gets together...

Ok, I have gone through the forged 347 thats been sitting on my lanai for 6months now. Checked all the bearing clearances etc.
Specs:
LS6 Block, stock crank, Comp Star Rods, APR bolts, Diamond -2cc v/r flattop pistons, Cloyes Hexadjust timing set, EDC Cam 231/242 .637/.622 114*LSA, Morel lifters, new GM lifter cups, Cometic .040" gaskets, ARP Head studs (being ordered instead of the ARP Bolts I have), ET Performance 225 55cc chamber 11* Heads, Stock rockers w/ pedestals, LS6 Intake for now (FAST/ NW 90/90 coming soon), Kooks 1 7/8" x 3" LTs.

About the only question I have remaining is the pushrod length. I have an adjustable p/r checker, but havent got a clear answer on how to check the length. Since the lifters have sat, bled down since new. I did the swipe test before, using stock heads, put the a/prod in, opened it up to zero lash, TDC #1, and then began adjusting, came out to 7.400". Just need to recheck with the ETP Heads once they come in. Is this method good or no?

It depends on the preload that the lifter requires. If it is next to nothing like comp r's then a quarter turn from 0 lash to 22 ft lb is good. If they are like stock replacements then anywhere from 1.5-2 turn to 22 ft lb is typical. Adjust the pushrod till you get the right amount of preload for the 22 reading.
