Default Carquest Oil filter..

I use the carquest oil filters because I get a deal on them and they're wix filters.
I want to know if there's a different filter that will fit and is bigger than what they list for LS1's?
The filter I get is the same one they give to saturn owners.
Is there a filter for LSX trucks or anything that's bigger and fits?

Thanks.

I use the Long K&N #2006 filter in my LS1. It holds a 1/2 qts more.

truck filters ( like the 2006) are longer, but you have to be careful to not knock it off on bumps, etc.

I just run a simple AC Delco in mine. I've ran the k&n, and m1 filters, but they are expensive as hell. The m1 doesnt flow too well, the k&n is nice, but I change the oil so often i cant justify the cost.

I was kind of worried about that, how far down does it hang?

I have the K@N 2006, and it hangs even with the oil pan so it's really no more exposed then a stock sized filter. There's really nothing to worry about.

I always use the larger carquest blue filters at my shop on all Gen III engines. The Carquest part number is 85522.
