You're not going to have a problem sitting in traffic just because you put a cam in. With a good tune you will have no driveability issues. A higher stall converter will make sitting in traffic a bit easier. You're going to have to raise the idle speed a little bit with either of GM's cams, and with the stock converter you'll be fighting the brakes a little bit while stopped in gear. Nothing unbearable, but I wouldn't want to sit in traffic for a long time like that. If you don't want a high stall (bad city gas mileage) I'd recommend a newer Chevy Trailblazer converter. I've heard some people have really good luck with them and they're only about 2200 rpm stall speed. Do a search about them. Here's my recommendation: do the asa cam, stall converter (~3k for best performance, trailblazer for economy) and tune it yourself. You'll have yourself a bad *** daily driver!

dont forget the tranny cooler with that stall converter, and i think stock lockup is about 40mph, which will help alot with gas milage

I do still have one concern about the springs. Do I need new seats, retainers, or anything else? Or is it just a matter of stictly swapping springs? I've been looking at LS6 springs. I am on somewhat of a budget, but I want to it right the first time, and more importantly be safe!

Would the ASA cam have any surging in 1st gear with a sixspeed?

You'll probably experience some low rpm bucking/surging without a tune, but I wouldn't think in 1st gear. Most of the problems come in higher gears under light throttle and cruising situations. Tuning will take care of this.

the milkman tuned my car drove it everyday, no problems, it did take some time to get the idle right but after that it was just fine, but then again i do have 4.10 gears

I have them in mine and have the rev limiter set at 6800, shifts at 6400.
You can run the ASA cam in an A4 without a stall convertor? I would love to use your .Bin file when i put mine in because I have no ideas on which tables to change on HP
