TR230 with a 3800 stall?
Hey everyone. I was going to get a cam...even sold one of my guitars to get some money for it, but then my car busted into and the deductible sapped away that money. I think I finally decided on a cam...the TR230. I've always wanted this cam and have seen some dynamite results with it. Awesome torque curve, great midrange/top end power, decent idle for what it is, works well with stock heads, and seems to perform as well at the track as it does on the dyno. I know it's mainly recommended for 6-speed, but I think it'd work pretty well with my car. I have full bolt-ons, a 3800 stall, and 3.73's. I know the idle wouldn't be perfect because it's on a 111 LSA, but that's fine with me. So, would this cam work pretty well? Opinions please. BTW, I also may port my stock heads and mill them a bit as well. Thanks.

Awsome cam. I like reverse splits.
It will work well with 3800 stall. Plan on a good wideband dyno tune and the idle should not be a problem.
I recommend a good exhaust system with that cam, LTs and duals with X would be best.

I say you torch that thing and get the 6-speed! Talk to Jay, his name on here is ImportPatrolWS6. He had the same cam in his auto with a 3500 stall. I think he recently switched to a bigger one, but he daily drove his and would be able to give you a good idea of how it ran.
