Default B1/T1 vs TR220

Seem very close B1/T1 221/.558, TR220 220/.551.
Only difference I see is older grind vs newer grind.
Anyone know offhand how close the lobe styles are/r not?
Its so hard to tell from reading threads....so many different dyno #s with similar bolt ons.
Thanks,
Bill

The Thunder lobes are faster which means you will have a smoother idle and make more power than the Lunati/Comp lobes for the old B1/Ta. Here's why: Although they have similar durations at .050" lift, the Thunder lobe has less duration at .006 lift which means it will have less overlap and smoother idle. The Thunder lobe will have more duration at .200" lift which means it will make more power than the B1/T1 lobe. Don't make the mistake of looking only at cam durations at .050". That only tells you part of the story.

Ahhh....thank you.
As much as I have read up on modern cams....there is still much to learn.
Well, I guess that seals the deal. The TR220 was 1 of my top picks early on in this quest for what will suite my needs. Looks like it is time to...

Go 224 unless you are concerned with passing emissions.

Emissions are not a prob here.
TR224 is prob. one the best cams to hit the market in forever.........but it just doesnt fit my needs.
I have spent all summer/fall weighing my options.....and the end product always points to the TR220.

For only a few hp difference and a flatter tq curve I think/hope I'tll do the job.
