Default what happened to my cylinder wall??

looks like I got lean, this is cylinder #7. the piston is nicely burnt. but what is the brown area on the cylinder wall??
anyone seen anything like it before?

Almost looks like rust color.

Did you put the engine together?

Thats what i thought, looks like it had some moisture on it and rusted.

One sure way to tell is to put that Naval jelly you can buy at the autostores, its the pink gel that eats at rust. If it eats it, its rust.
