can i use 5/16 dowel rod for cam tool???

Default can i use 5/16 dowel rod for cam tool???

Just wondering if i can use 5/16" rod instead of buying the jpr cam install tool...

Absolutely. 5/16 brake line works great also cause you can bend a handle on the end. Lots of threads on this.

Yes, 2 5/16" wooden dowls work perfect! One of the dowels needs to be sanded down a tad less than 5/16".

I used 2 5/16" brake lines about 19" long and bent down 5" into a 90*.Put a slight "oval" along both rods length to work,use a vise.I spun the lifters,inserted the rods and turned the handles to tighten against the lifters,works perfect.
