Default Katech camshaft information

Due to popular request after making the info thread on our valve covers, I'm posting camshaft info. I'm listing the 3 street cams that we sell. We have many other cams that can be spec'd to your engine, but these are the street cams dyno tuned to LS1/LS2/LS6 street engines.

Katech Inc. has been in the racing industry for 25+ years and knows that the key to a winning engine is the camshaft. Not only do our camshafts make great power, but the durability on them is second-to-none. What makes our camshafts so great is our ability to analyze the valve while it is in motion on our Optron spin cell. This is a claim that few people in the industry can make, especially since we were one of the first companies to use this technology. With our involvement in the C5-R race program, we can safely claim that there has never once been a failure due to insufficient valvetrain design.
What this means for you is you will get the most durable, highest revving cam package that is on the market today. You can also be assured that every aspect of the camshaft has been designed for great power and superb drivability.

These cams are all priced at $389.95.

Is the TRac cam a solid? These are some very fast inake lobes, even for a solid if so. Or is the 258/258 a typo?

The 259 at .050" TK Solid Roller Comp lobe is 287 at advertised lift and the TK series is comp cams most agressive standard rocker arm series that they have. In other words they take 28 degrees total to get from advertised to .050". Most of comp's solid roller stuff takes between 28-38, even 45 for the lazy first generation street solid rollers to get from advertised to .050". So I must re-ask the question, is the trac cam a solid roller as it only takes 30 degrees on the intake to get from .004" (advertised) to .050"? Even the xe-r comp lobes which are hydraulic rollers but considered agressive hydraulic rollers take 49 degrees to get from advertised to .050". Thanks

I just pulled the grind specs on the trac and the first numbers are duration at .020 not .004. Only for the trac for some reason.

Interesting, most solid cams rate advertised duration at a similar lift point to account for the .020" lash you must run? Who knows for sure, keep us updated though and if possible could you give us specs at .006 or .004?
