why would agrresive lobes mean less reliability? I thought they just meant you change out valvesprings more often?

True. I only want to change mine once per track season, that's why I was concerned with the more aggressive lobes.

You do 25Kmiles in a track season?

I wish you guys read the post. I do about 2k track miles a season but they are non-stop in the 3,500-6,500rpm range. That's quite a bit different than street miles and a bunch of runs down the strip.

Drive all the way to work in 2nd gear down the highway and then see if you'd be thinking of durability...that's what I would compare RR and engine rpm too.

I bet your tires last 25k miles too. Where my track tires last about 800 miles...get my point?

Yes, we get the point. Your not the only one who does track time or knows that its harder on cars than ordinary miles.

I dont see why quality valve springs (even for hot cams) can't last 2K or more brutal miles. Thats well within a factor of 10, even though your not spinning the motor @ 10 times more RPM's then us lesser human beings.

They probably can last 2k or more. 2k is all I need to make it through a season. Maybe they'll be good for 4k. Who knows? I just like to be able to use my track time. In the last 3 years I've only broken a few wheel studs and overcooked a ps pump. I'd like to keep it that way by planning for durability ahead of time.
