Keep in mind that these heads are aluminum. The studs that hold these tools are steel. You need to be sure that everything is straight, square and flush when pressure is applied to the spring retainer while using these tools. Murphys law applies here as some have done damage to their heads with these tools if they are not used properly. The other option is to use a tool that squeezes the spring directly. This type of tool does not use the aluminum head for leverage which has its' own advantages. If you have sufficient experience you should be OK with the Crane type, but don't leave out consideration of the jaw type.

I have used other tools and nothing compares to the ease of the crane tool, and you'll never break it.... I might add its pretty idiot proof, you'd have to almost TRY to mess up your heads.

Default Tims Valve Spring Tool

Check out our Valve Spring Tool we Sell. Its a third of the price then the Crane and works just like the Crane except you only do 1 spring at a time.

I used the More tool when I did mine...what a pain in the ***.

I saw an add for the Crane too a week after.....it would have been much easier with that one.

Another vote for Crane!!!
