Default fm13 cam

i'm getting ready to order the fm13-112 from futral and have questions?????
1. should i or is it needed to have the cam ground with some timing?? if so,how much( i will be using the stock timing gears w/ a ls2 chain).
2. what would the added timing do for me???
3. i will probably have a 100 dry shot of nitrous just in case it's needed..(there's always someone quicker)..will adding the timing be a problem for this application????
thanks all in advance

I think the futral cams come with +4 ground into them off the shelf. Advance moves the powerband down in the rpm's so that the powerband is more useable. 112+4 is the best all around power/tq combo. 112+2 is going to give the best peak hp #'s ... but doesn't have as broad a powerband.

I had a F13 112lsa +4 (108ICL). GREAT road race type cam.

BTW: Advance does NOT broaden your powerband. It simply makes it occur sooner. Widening your lsa (to a point) will broaden the powerband but will peak later compared to a narrower lsa... Most go with 112lsa to get to the power sooner on the street, not wanting to rev as high as a 114 (or higher) lsa needs.

I wish I had got my F13 with only 2 degrees advance (110icl), everything said and done....

I have the f13 112+4 and Can vouch for the power band being right where you want it. Allan will tell you that avg power is more important then peak power and recomend the 112+4 to you.
With 4 degrees advance, I still shift at 6800 for best results and power starts real early .
My car is heavy and tq starts from just above idle all the way to redline

as for nitrous, mine loves my little 75 shot although I have no track times with it yet

Be ready to wait for the cam because I ordered mine(F13 on 114) a little over a month and a half ago and still haven't got it yet.

I have purchased a Futral Cam (FM13) and have had problems during the install. I do not blame anyone at Futral for this. I will say that Futral is very slow getting back to me. They use an answering machine. I'll say here that the FM13 is a good cam. I turned to Thunder Racing and frankly they are there every time I call...four times now between tech questions for Shane and sales oriented questions for Chris or David. Customer Service and Support after the sale is very comforting. I'll restate this...no problem with the cam as far as I know. But horrible communication with me when I needed them. I know that Louisiana has been through hell and I feel for you. I'm really thrilled with Thunder Racing, also in Louisiana...and have all but given up on Futral...answering machines are not the way to win over the hearts and minds of the customer. Good cam - rotten support. Sorry to report this.

Please don't waste a post telling me how many phone calls companies get and how it's difficult to answer each one.
