Got the cam/spring package from TSP for ~$700 I think.

Labor (did it myself):
35 gallon Air Compressor $300
625 ft-lb impact $80
Bolt and Gasket Kit $40
valve spring tool $40
threaded rod and washers $15
1/4" brakeline (hold lifters) $8
locktite and fluids ~$50
HPTuners $250 (split it with another guy)

Total: $1483

Didn't need an air compressor (thank God I had one though)
Could have borrowed the impact
Total could have been: $1103

I'm glad I did it myself. I learned a lot doing it, and it made me actually WANT to pull my trans when it went bad. If I had a shop do my cam install it would have cost me $500, I wouldn't have all these useful tools, and I probably would have ended up having a trans shop R&R my tranny for $300.

Cam install ----> Grows bigger ***** to do other work/mods to your car.

Does Fbody Central have their own dyno yet? I was up there about a year ago getting a tune and we had use the Dyno over at Heffners to finish up. I'll be heading up there again as soon as I finish with my heads.

Thanks for the good word Ed, our dyno should be in the ground around the new year. I watched guys making full 1/4 mile passes on them down in Orlando, so maybe well do some "dyno racing" that every likes to do with the snow on the ground this winter.

We arent far from VA, have 3 VA cars in the shop right now.

Just gotta shop around for good deals.
Hotcam: $100 (Used from member)
LS6 Springs; $50 (Used from member)
Misc (Oil, coolant, WP gaskets) $100
Installed myself. Street tuned for $250. So total it was $500.

Now before anyone jumps on my case. I also installed a new timing chain, LS6 oil pump and a bunch of other bolt-ons at the same time, but those things aren't absolutely necessary. I should have done pushrods as well but I went cheap. Inexpirence on my part.

Take my advice, don't cheap out. Replace everything while you're in there even if you have to save for a few more months. I ended up tearing it back down 4 more times because I cheaped out on stuff and runied a cam in the process. I learned from my expirence.
