Am I doing something wrong. The yellow ones do scratch aluminum. Shoulda went with the white one.

Turn down the speed a little, yellow is what I used with ZERO problems.
Micro scratches won't hurt anything.

Yup! I used a white one on mine. Grainger sells them also. The green is 80 grit equivalent, I think yellow is 120 or so. Forget what white is.

You can use a razor blade if you are careful. Takes about 30 min each side. The block aluminum is harder than the heads. Take your time and clean up with mineral spirts and green scotch bright

I used it on mine and never had a problem, even with N20!
