Default Quick Valve Spring and Cam Selection Question

I'm looking at putting in a small cam, the only thing is that I don't want to worry about ever checking the valve springs or having to replace them. Since the ZO6 cam has a max lift of .551", if I got a custom ground cam like 226/226 114 LSA with a .550 max lift, could I use LS6 springs and never have to worry about changing valve springs? It seems that people that don't want to mess with springs ever again go with the Hot Cam or ASA because it has minimal lift (.52X), but it seems that you are leaving some performance on the table where you could use a higher lift cam and not have to worry about springs.

Thanks!

I don't think the Z06 springs would keep up with the ramp rates on that cam. Have you checked the profile type of the cam? I would consider the 918's instead.

You'd have to eventually change springs even with a stock z06 cam, they don't last forever. I mean I know how hard it is to change valve springs but its not the end of the world.

If you do not want to do "general modding maintenance", then DO NOT MOD.
