Default H/C swap whats manditory/good idea

well i plan on doing a H/C swap i am tryin to make a list of all the things i need, and all the things that are good ideas to upgrade. i have done some searching and am ahve a list. please add to it and let me know if they are needed or just extras. or any problems or things to look out for.

im lookin for hopefully 430 at the wheels. when all i had was a cutout by the muffler and a K&N i put down 329hp and 339 tq on a super hot and humid day. since then i added a lid, smooth bellow, free mods, hooker LTs, no cat Y, magnaflow catback, aluminum flywheel (love it) and spec stage 3. down side moser 9in 3.89 gears detroit and 35spline axles.

heads = dart 205s assm then race ported by local shop.
cam = (as of now) TSP 233/239, .595"/.603
hardened pushrods
ported LS6 oil pump
new timing chain
HP tuners
42# injectors

thanks for the help everyone.
let me know if ya think im gonna hit my 430 goal.

You are going to need some decent double valve springs. I also went for new titanium retainers, new seats and seals. You should also consider lifters if you have over 50,000 miles, while the heads are off. Definitely add an underdrive pulley, the old pulley needs to come out now anyways. High stall torque converter to really make some torque and get the most out of your cam. And lastly and LS6 intake and port the throttle body.

Obviously the TC only for automatics, not sure what you have.

Don't know that you will need the injectors, though. Anyways, you should be well on your way to 430 at the wheels.

Lighten up your valvetrain, get some Lunati Titanium retainers and valve springs. Also for a referance go to LS1howto.com and download the Intructions on a cam swap. These instructions will help you get some more helpful tools and hints on your cam swap. Also get a ASP pulley,Headers, Hooker Ceramic Coated.

^ Not if he is spraying a 250 shot on top of the heads/cam. That's a good 600rwhp minimum.

If your going to change the lifters get the plastic trays that hold the lifters aswell. They cost about $15 for all 4.

The lifters slide in to plastic trays that bolt on to the block. If you have to remove the cam for some reason the newer tighter trays will hold the lifters up off the cam better. For the extra $15 why not.

good idea i will check and see if there are tight or not. 58k might not be a bad idea.

If your spraying a 200 tnt wet kit you should worry about your fuel pump more than your injectors, but at that level~430rwhp bigger injectors are a good idea

The S.V.O. thirtys are good for your set up cause the 200 T.N.T. wet shot is before the injectors R.C.injectors site says stock injectors are good for 450 so S.V.O. thirtys should be plenty.

42s really gonna be to big.
if im gonna do it i might as well make it so i can go bigger and not have to worry about the injectors rite.
what will it hurt?

Just some FYI as I am reading some responses... 30# SVO's is the equivelent to 42# injector's in the LSX motors.

NO!!!!!

The Dart heads (I just bought a set) come with Eaton lightweight stainless valves. Don't change them to Manleys. Someone recently weighed the valves on the Dart 225 heads (larger intake valve) and it was 1 gram heavier than stock, the intake on the Dart 205 is likely less. The Darts also come with PSI nitrided beehive springs, precision made titanium retainers and machined locks. Don't change them, if you do let me know please!!!! The Dart heads come with excellent parts, leave them alone your throwing you money away otherwise.

By the way, the Lunati springs are made by, you guessed it, PSI. So you would in effect be taking off a set of PSI springs and then putting on a set of PSI springs.
