The beast lives
The beast lives I just assembled and installed a TSP 408 iron block in my '98 SS. I drove her for the first time 2night and it was awesome. I am especially proud since it was my first build & all. It took 3 months from the time I ripped er apart to the time I fired er up including waiting for parts and working full time @ a body shop. I started the car for the first time on sat and had a tuner do a house call to get it to idle w/ out dieing, but it kept miss firing, so after some frustration and lots of double checking I figured out that the coils are cylinder specific( going from a '98 to '99+, did'nt know) so I fixed the prob 2 night and she ran like a champ. The X4 sounds so nasty in an iron block
. Any way just wanted to share w/ every one, there is no feeling that compares to the first successfull install, I appreciate it so much more after doing all the work myself.

Yea, I'm not taking the rpms over 3 grand for the first hundred miles, and I'm doing an oil change tomorrow, then after 100 miles, then 1500. I took the car out tonight and I can't believe how streetable this thing is, it drives amazing and it only has 13 miles on it, + it's running on a base tune from a diff car w/ speed density & a diff cam, I can't wait to get it on the dyno and see what she's really made of.

Hey guys, thanks for all the feed back, I just had Charlie @ A&A Corvette's tweak the fuel trims to get er nice & rich & Idle real smooth. I have put about 340 miles on the motor now and took it to about 4500 rpms the other day, I can already feel how this thing is gonna pull like a F'N bastard. Can't wait to finish suspension, & rear so I'll have traction. I'm trying to find a bad *** Torque arm raight now, I've looking @ UMI, BMR and I heard the Jegster one is good w/ clearance, I have true duals but I want to relocate the TA off the tail shaft if possible.
