Then drive in a steel or brass one and then when the manifold splits or doesn't seal well, start another thread on how to fix it. There are verticle ridges raised ridges that run down the length of the hole also.

I just cut the egr tube off with a hack saw and then pushed it down and welded it shut. Just like all the others it doesn't look great if you really look at it but it's also not very noticeable to the untrained eye.

yes its a show car, i think a freeze plug will work great, ill just have to get a size

Then spring for the LS6 intake. You won't have to worry about any freeze plugs, shavings, etc... LS6 intake, there just isn't a hole there... Would look MUCH better than any of the suggestions here...

GM makes a plug for this. It bolts in using the same bolt as the EGR tube. I don't remember the price but it is not expensive. GM part number 12558346.
