Post Im having problems with the Mass Airflow Meter.

I have a 2000 Firebird Formula with the LS1....I have installed a FAST Intake manifold ,Hooker Headers, Magnaflow exhaust, And a Powerdyne supercharger with 6lbs. of boost.

My question is..

When Mass airflow meter is connected the motor it stalls out...But when it isnt connected it will run...however it does run at high idle at around 2000 RPM's when it is'nt connected....Has anyone ever heard of this and how do you fix it...I put a different one on that works on my buddy's car and it did the same thing so it isnt that the meter is bad....Any sugestions?

You have a vacuum leak. Check the brake booster line and make sure the intake is seated properly. I am guessing this started when you did your install right?

Yes it did...however it ran good for a few days and then I put the supercharger on and it ran good for a day and that is when it started.

You may also be in need of a tune. When MAF is connected, when does the car act up? At idle, under WOT or part throttle?

and it acts up under idle and part throttle...its weird because I had no way to get it back to my shop after I took it to the tune shop and I was going 65 on the highway and it started to increase speed to 70 without me even touching the throttle...but I think the tune had something to do with that

the tune shouldn't cause the car to increase speed. if it is, you might wanna check into a refund on that tune.

it does sound more like you have a vacuum leak somewhere. are you getting any DTC's?
