Is this safe to drive?
Is this safe to drive? Hey, I just put the cheatR cam and patriot heads on and now I need injectors. Im going with the SVO 30#. The thing is, the closest tuning is over 60 miles away. Is my car going to be safe to drive that far untuned, or will I have to have the shop install my injectors? I hate to pay labor for something that easy, but if its a safety risk to my motor I guess I'll have to.

I did the same with my ATI SC. Just drive there on the old injectors and install the new ones in the parking lot, that is what I did. #30 are not a huge diference... You might be able to just drive the 60 miles with them installed... will be be RICH though...

60 miles is a lot and and running too rich could cause harm to the motor, by washing down your cylinders, fouling your plugs, carbon fouling your valves and chambers, contaminating your oil.
So after doing so you'll need to clean your plugs or replace them, seafoaming your top end and change your oil.
Which if you think about it might amount to more than the cost of replacing the injectors at location.

Im still running cats too. I dont think its going to be good for my cats. Maybe I will just change my injectors in the parking lot. It should be easy enough. I guess it depends how much the shop wants to change them out.
