Default can I reuse my Cometic gaskets?

I heard that they can be reused, I started the car and it only ran for about twelve seconds, then I shut it off. I needed to take one of the heads off to fix the rockers. Can I reuse it if I got F/I?

The gaskets are reuseable.

I seems like such a taboo thing to do though doesn't it? 20-25 years ago I would have never even considered doing such a thing. Re-using head gaskets, are you nuts? I will be testing this out soon too. Already using Cometics, but will be pulling heads off to fly-cut for a bigger cam.

Plenty of people have reused the cometics. Never heard of a problem with them. A lot's changed in 20-25 years. One me being born

Thumbs up

LOL! And the world is a much better place because of your born on date. It just seems so wrong to re-use head gaskets. I'll get over after the first time.

You can use them twice safely. I have heard of up to 4-5 times though. (with FI I would not go more then twice)

I'd inspect them to make sure they look good though.

Why would you need to pull the head to fix the rockers?
