Default chugging after cam install!

just installed xr281 cam and 918's, and long tubes no cats(ory). pcm4less mail order tuning and tuned with tuner cat. im happy with all this stuff alot, but im getting some odd chugging in different rpm's normally lower. sometime's even when i get on it. Could this just be some of the big cam syndrome, tuning, do i need bigger injectors. its a six speed car and plug wires are all connected by the way. also motor shakes alot. please i need any and all help.

232/234 .595/.598 112 on XE-R lobes.

Stock rear gear? Motor shaking may simply be cam lope.
Cam may need more gear out back to prevent low speed bucking.
Chugging when you get on it suggests a misfire maybe.

Mail order tuning is good, but may not be the best for driveability.
Triple check your plug wires and coil packs, but this sounds like a tuning thing.

Does the hesitation on the gas go away once the engine is warm?

I would recommend a good dyno tune. Best way to get thing dialed in.

give it a few hundred miles before deciding, it may clear up with a little time. You coulld be running rich, or pcv mod time? just an idea...

The cam is 228/230 .575 .580 something. well i have 225 miles on the whole swap , i was very curious about the rear end gearing. I still have stock 3.42's ordering the 4.10's soon, could that take care of some of the problems?. So is the dyno tuning whats going to solve some of this also? thanks for the help people.

^ Ah, yes, I was looking under XE-R

228/230 .571/.573 112, not XE-R

Less driveability than the XE-R grind actually, due to the less aggressive lobes.
3.42's should be OK with this cam. 3.73's or 4.10's would be nice.

Look into tuning.

thnx south and everyone else but i figuered it out. even though i would have sworn i had checked all the plug wires, i checked again and found one that was barely hangin on. now it runs like a bat out'a hell. would gears still help out the car tremendously? also what about poly motor mounts, i like the engine shake because the cam but would just like to get rid of a little bit.
