I wouldn't buy a cam from a company that doesn't specify all the specs. Even if it was proven to be the best cam ever made. Just the principal of it pisses me off.

To the thread starter, go with your tuner's recommended cam. He's got the right idea. Ask for a tiny bit more duration though. 226/230 would be better, or 228/230 like my F11.

Also you can advance the cam a couple degrees (Futral are all +4º by default IIRC) to help with low end torque and bringing the power peak down a little (rpm-wise). If it's a 224 i'd put it straight up +0º. For 228 i'd do +2º.

When I started looking for a cam I considered the G5X3, but from what I remember they were a good bit more expensive than most competitors cams. The G5X3 cams definately put down some nice numbers though. I ended up getting the TSP MS3 (237/242 .603/.609 113 lsa) and the PRC Platinum valve springs (rated at .660). My car is driven atleast 3-4 days every week, and I couldn't be happier with the driveability and extra power from the MS3. The key to making these larger cams driveable is a good tune. Through a 9" rearend, and 315/35s on the back my car put down 401 rwhp / 364 rwtq with the MS3, bolt ons, and stock heads. I figure that the 9" hurt me about 10-15 rwhp and rwtq. One of the big drawbacks to going with one of these larger cams is that you may have issues with piston to valve clearance if you later decide to install aftermarket heads. You'll want to check with each manufacturer on that if you decide to go with one of the larger cams. Just depends on what you want really. The smaller cam should put out some good numbers, and may be more what you're looking for.

Is the G5X3 bigger than those two I mentioned.
And where were these bigger numbers made?

You can't really even compare my numbers to someone in say Texas. Here in Arizona we have extremely thin air, shitty gas, highest octane of 91 and super high temps pretty much all year round. My car made these numbers on a very conservative tune because of all the things that I just mentioned and also take into consideration I am on a nitrous tune as well making those numbers. So I don't think that my numbers are that bad.

Yeaaaa......shatup

I need to get me some QTP's, those would help out a lot for this cam, especially now since they have that new kickass price with the HVMC. Anyone want some Jet-hot coated Hooker longtubes?

Since it did that in those temps/conditions, I hope your cam puts down something as impressive in my car.

I used a X3 cam. Made good power. Peaked a 6400-6500. I wasn't setup to run the cam N/A. It was a nitrous setup. Make sure you are setup to run the cam.
