1. Am I correct that a solid lifter vs. hydraulic must be used to check valvetrain geometry?
2. How does a person know which solid lifter mimics the operating condition (pumped up) of a particular hydraulic lifter for testing purposes?
The lifters in question are 2000 LS1 roller.
Thanks

I bought a new/replacement stock lifter. Took it apart, drained it and then filled the chamber completely with high density, self curing acrylic - then I reassembled (spring pushes seat into place) and let excess vent through the seat/cup -> Solid mock-up at max. pump. It worked very well with comp 918s.
As I turned her over I did have a transient image of the lifter shattering in the bore and acrylic everywhere.
