Default Patriot 5.3L head/cam/rocker???

I am making a semi-budget build up on my first LS1, my goal is for 420-450rwhp in my 88 rx7. Semi-budget meaning if its really worth it I will cough up the money.

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...ch&Ntt=patriot

If I go with this kit, LT's, full 3" x-pipe exhaust, ls6 intake/throttle body, and 42# injectors will I be in my desired power range? Will I need a ported oil pump? and should I look at the fast 90/90? remember that I'm trying to keep the cost way down.
Looking for feedback before I make any decisions, especially from people that have this kit.

Thanks

Good product, and great for those on a budget.
It will be hard to get 450 with this setup but over 400 shouldn't be a problem.

Stock rockers are fine (assuming you have stockers).
Save that cash for something else.

If you're on a budget, check these head options out.

Those texas speed heads look like a great deal. 850 for a pair/assembled. This H/C decision is always tricky with so many deals, with 850 in the heads that leaves me lots of room for a good cam, and I like that. But there is so much valvetrain included with the Patriot deal and a cam. Does the stock valve train need to be upgraded that badly or can I make it work with the Texas speed heads? What cam would work best in the Texas speed heads? the car wont be a daily driver so I'm willing to get a little crazy
Right now I dont have stocker anything other than a block, crank, pistons and covers.
Thanks for the help. keep it coming

If you are talking about price....most cams run about the same. 250-450 range.

Here are some flow numbers on a set of these heads. Heads were flowed on our Superflow 1020, 3.905" Bore, using a clay radius, and pipe:

.100" 75 / 62
.200" 154 / 121
.300" 215 / 165
.400" 254 / 200
.500" 285 / 217
.550" 292 / 221
.600" 301 / 226

We can do a set with 2.00"/1.55" valves and our Patriot Gold springs with shipping, MLS head gaskets and bolts for $1125.00.

As far as the 243 castings go, we can do the set with the 2.00"/1.55" to help give you the most PTV clearance, use our Patriot Gold springs with ti retainers, super 7 locks, viton seals, with shipping, GM MLS head gaskets, and OEM head bolts, the total would be $1,125.00.
