Default Opinions please

Hello,

I think this may be my first post here and I wanted to get some opinions on this package, http://speed-eng.com/store/product_i...oducts_id=7193

I have a 98 formula that I bought 3 years ago for my wife at christmas (she would rather drive the Thunderbird SC she likes the blower sound).I'm just wondering if the amount of money is a good deal or if I would be better off going with a turbo or supercharger. The car is daily driven by me and if I get the H/C I would want a fair amount of lope with it. I rarely go to the track but I might start if I know I wont get embarrased by every car out there. Thanks for listening and for any advice. I tried a search but it's being very erratic right now. I would be installing whatever package myself on-base at the auto hobby shop (12 lifts and 12 regular bays plus all the tools I need and overnight storage)

auto or M6?

Im not a big fan of the Pacestetter headers....QTP or Kooks will gain you more power. price those parts individually to see if its worth it. decent heads are cheap nowadays..good heads still cost $2k. That is a pretty compplete package but you will need 99+ valve covers and coil brackets Dont forget about a cat back.

An STS rear mount turbo is cheaper and should net you 400rwhp.

Hey thanks for the input I didn't even realize I would need the valve covers and coil brackets. EDIT I found them at Nasty Performance Maybe the dealer because I don't remember seeing them at the sponsors website. I priced out the package and it was around 4400.00 before I got to the bolts and gaskets. Oh the car is an M6 that I just re-built with the steel 3-4 fork and billet slider keys. Thanks again.

get a GM service manual to do the install...sounds like you are on your way..

if it was an auto I would have said converter...but you are going to need a clutch eventually. How about a fully assembled long block? There are deals out there on 383s and 402/408. Nothing like a stroker.

I know that thw PRC 2,5 5.3 heads put down some impressive track results when used with the right cam combo. But Sam is right. The STS kit would take half the time to install and you would not have to crack into the engine....And you too would have a whistle!
