Default LS1 Block tips

I have an engine from a 99' SS I've decided I'd rather build that motor up than mess with the one in my car. I already have a Scat Crank (4 " Stroke I belive) and 6.125" Rods, JE Pistons, as well as the rest of the rotating assembly. I just wondered how large I could go with the block as far as resleeving it, and still retain the rotating assembly I have for it. I was thinking a 383 or a 396....larger if possible.....Any suggestions?

Have you looked into the cost of resleeving vs a LS2 block? Just build a 383 and check the clearance of the rod bolts to the bottom of the cyclinder walls while rotating it.

If you already have the pistons then the answer is to make the bores correct for the pistons. If you want to do a sleeved block you really need to switch to a ls2 to save yourself on some headaches. You would also need new pistons for the larger bore.
