918 or PRC springs?
918 or PRC springs? hey guys when originally looking for cams i had decided on the 918 springs, but recently called TSP and was pointed toward the PRC springs, the cam is either going to be a 233/239 .610/.605 or the 231/237 .598/.595 both with 112 lsa. the 918 spring package is cheaper and i would like to know if they would be good enough for a DD that i want to be able to put the cam in and not worry about. wondering if the PRC's are too good i guess you might say for my purpose, and if the 918's would be fine for what i wanted.

This spring is designed for a maximum of .600" lift at the valve
So, choose accordingly

Like said earlier, 918's below .600", PRC's above. 918's are a good spring and their deffinatlly not a cheap spring. They just don't cost as much as others because there a single spring, not double.
The PRC kit is a REALLY good deal compared to the 918's if you think about what you get in the deal. The PRC kit comes with new valve seals, spring seats, titanium retainers, and the springs. With the 918's you only get a single spring that reuses all your stock stuff.. that should be a no-brainer.

I agree.The 918's can be shimmed to handle either cam just fine. The valvetrain should fair better up in the rpms with the lighter design. The only reason I'd consider the duals for this app. is for that reason...they're a dual spring. Insurance...
yeah, b/c like i said earlier, it's a DD so i don't wanna have to worry about it once the cam is installed. it's only like 89 bucks more for the PRC spring kit. right now i don't have an ls6 intake and i have stock 3.42's think it will be alright for now and maybe a tune not RIGHT away...$$$$

I've got PRC springs and love them. I ran them with the STOCK CAMSHAFT (had the heads off already for lifters) for about about 10k miles BEFORE i put the f14 cam in. Cam is 232/234 .600+ on a 112lsa.
You're probably going to be hating life with that new cam and no tune. Its going to treat you like **** on the street and not have the power to back up the killer idle lol.
