What are the possibilities with a 427 ci motor horse power to the wheels
Listen guys do u think there is any way a 427 ci motor will produce 600+ hp at the wheels of course with the right heads and cam? And then will it be capible of spraying 150-200 shot of NOS. i was told that the more the cubic inch the thiner the cylinder walls get and the weaker the motor will be. is that true? If it is then why did GM put a 427 in the new Z06 i find it hard to believe the is true.

Yes, 600 is obtainable at the wheels. Futral made 618 rwhp with a 418. The new Zo6 has a new block, not a LS-1 block. The casting is plenty thick to handle the abuse. LS-1/6 blocks have to be re-sleeved, but as long as the appropriate sleeves are used, a 427 can be obtained very easily. The bore on my block is much larger than that of a 427.

If you have the $$$, cubic inches rule. You can add an instant $3k to the price for the sleeved block right out of the shoot. If you decide to use a LS2 block, you could get a 418 without sleeving. There's a few in the LS2 section running them.

I guess it depends on how much $$ you have to spend and your ultimate goal.
You could have a 402/408 making 500 rwhp on motor and throw a 100 to 200 shot on top and be satisified.
Low end tq on bigger cubes is where it is at.

the thing is i wanted to go turbo, but i was thinking if i went with a 408ci low compresion, then get a turbo kit from ptk with upgraded turbo, then i need a bigger fuel system. You'r looking at somewhere between 15-20 thousand dollars is that right? i figured why not go with a 427 and push around 600+ rwhp and be satisfied. i see cartek has 427 long blocks for about 13,000 are they any good from cartek? i've never heard bad things about them.
Let me know guys.......................i can't make up my mind.

You can get one for far less than 13K. You can get a 427 short for a little over $5k and then another $3k for some ET heads and you'll be set. You'll still have to buy the other basic parts, but they won't cost you anywhere near another $5k.

beast's motor is going to be crazy powerful once the Harrop intake goes on!! I am waiting for the pics and progress for sure!! Very interesting combo and just the combo I was going to go with, but now I have soo much money tied up in my current setup I am just going to forge the short and slap the new Hi Flo on it for 600-700 rwhp without breaking the bank. I still like Beasts all motor and it should belt out 650 rwhp with the cubes he is running.

Just checked cartek's site. Their short block is 9,000 so 13,000 is not a far stretch for some stage 3 heads, gaskets, oil pump, timing chain, and a cam.

There's one that used to be floating around with 750rwhp, but that isn't exactly a normal motor if you know what i'm saying. Way expensive and not a street type deal. If you want to make that kind of power (600+ rwhp) you're going to have to spend some money on the heads and intake. 600rwhp will be somewhat difficult with the lsx type intakes and pump juice n/a. look at the single plain or better yet harrop or sheet metal. the harrop, individual runner setup type deal, is the best you can get really followed by sheet metal then single plain. good luck, i'm trying something like this with my 434 but it will be through a heavy th400 with big stall so I may not see the 600+rwhp number, but hopefully it'll scoot down the track very well

There has never been a 750 rwhp 427 you are thinking of the MORE performance 750 fwhp 427 with their sheetmetal intake.
