thanks for in info. kinda makes me wonder would this be a "stock" block for a 99 TA?

I am kinda lost with the what you said about the cored rear cover oil passage?

What do this mean, anything special about it?

Yep, sounds like that would have been used in 1999 and 2000...

According to http://www.automotiverebuilder.com/ar/eb040538.htm

"The right front corner of the block was reinforced in '99 and there was a deep oil slot added to the back of the block to allow more oil to flow to the right hand lifter galley. Look for a 12559378 or a 12560626 casting."
