Default Which block?

Hey I am about to start a LS 408 project and was wondering which block would be the best to go with? I leave for basic training on the 7th of Feb and want to get a block before I leave. My father is going to assemble it for me so that when I get out in 4 years I will hopefully have a bad *** ride. It will be going into either a 98+ Camaro or a 69 if I can find one.
So basically my two questions are...

What block?
What rotating assembly?

Funds are not an issue, this is going to be a four year project.

My advice? Wait...prices are coming down, and the aftermarket is expanding seemingly daily with the LSX line. We are getting better products at lower prices. In 4 years, who knows what will be available.

Depending on what else your going to do...Nitrous/Blower/Turbo, an Iron block might be the better choice. Check with the site sponsers and see what they are using. Good luck with the project.

Either all motor or blower. No juice, no hairdryer.

Do half motor half blower. Best of both worlds.

decide the usage; n/a or FI. if you go n/a do a ls2 408, if you go FI go 6.0 iron. or go all out and do a resleeved darton wetsleeve.

Check out the new 6.2L alluminum truck block. It has a 4.060 bore I believe.
