I have the Patriot 232/230 cam in my GTO. I love this cam. You'll need a decent tuner to get it to run good but I am making around 390rwhp and 370rwtq with it goin through a set of longtubes and dual 3" exhaust. I still have room for tuning as I am running rich still..(The MAF does not like the duration)

It has a choppy *** idle though. (I absolutely love it) But alot of people wont like it and it is my daily driver. (Although I have other cars, so i dont have to drive it everyday)

When I was asked to do the 232/230 I was told it had to be NASTY sounding. The lobes are asymetrical on that cam so you must use the opening and closing events to degree it in. The centerline method will leave you out in left field.

My buddy has the 226 cam and there heads on his car right now we still arent done tunning it but it runs pretty well. Also partiot can afford to sell the cams so cheap because they mass produce them hence only 2 cam choices they just crank them out and you save because of it.

i just installed the 232/230 cam in my T/A and all i can say is WOW... it sounds rediculous... just like the GTO owner above, its my DD, but i like a nice lope... driveability issues don't bother me... considering i have an LT1 untuned b/c of an unknown cam... i still have yet to get it tuned.. i'm giong to get a mail-order tune from PCMforLess.com ... they did a great job with my LT1, and he said he has fooled around with some very similar cams on the dyno lately, so he should be able to get me real close....
as far as degreeing the cam, i dunno how my buddy did it.. i'll have to ask..
but back on topic.. the cam sounds bad-***! actually have only started the car (last night), still not run it, so i can't comment on power... can't wait tho!

I would also like to know more about these cams. If they sell so many, how come we can't get anymore info?

Figured I would resurrect this thread to see if anyone had any more info about the patriot 226/226. I've been searching for hp #s or 1/4 mile times but couldn't find anything and i'm trying to decide between this or a tr224/112.

The TR 224 112 is a well proven cam. Not much difference between it and a 226/226 112. FWIW, TR is a great place to do business with.

Here is an idle/rev clip I just took...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_il6f-_2b4

I know it's low quality but all I have is a digital camera that is mainly fo taking pictures, but allows you to take 23 second videos...that's why you see me running up to jump in lol...

It's also very dark and cold outside..hence the smoke..

I'll take some better vids once I get the tires on...in the daytime lol.
Maybe I'll do a couple flybys, etc...

BTW I only reved to like 3K because it's late and my neighbors suck...

Here's a soundclip of the 226/226 in a 2004 Silverado w/ 5.3. Also is a lip of the same vehicle runing about 30-120ish. Cam works great, need about a 3500 stall though.
