was wondering if cleaning up intake/exhaust where pincel is pointing would I gain anything from doing it? or just leave it as is?
heads are PP LS6 59cc
flow is 302.1 int, 218.7 exh. @ .600 lift
valves are 2.02 int, 1.57 exh.
cam is 231/237 .589/.595 lsa 112+4

Leave them alone, unless you let a pro do the work, period.

Not bad at all for a home port. You saved $1,100+

Not bad flow, I wonder how the velocity #'s are doing.

Not bad. I've been thinking on doing a set for the 'Hawk.

Not a home port, notice he said PP. The idea was that he wanted to know about modifying someone elses work.

these are new PP heads as I recieved them. maybe not me doing the porting ,but do ya'll think I will gain anything from grinding where I have the pointer. I know a guy out in town that has done some work for other guys, so he's is not new at this. just want your opinions on considering flow numbers, if it will be worth it. my calculation have me making upto 675.68 hp potential w/ these heads. I just might leave them alone, but still want your opinions on this.

thanks

Not likely, if there was more flow to unlock that easily, patriot would already be doing it.

Dude you are talking about taking away a TON of material. Definatly do not mess with those. They will flow about as good as they will flow no matter what else you do to them. If you do what you are wanting to do you will decrease flow numbers significantly. Head flow is not about how big the ports are, it's about velocity. That's why the exhaust port is shaped like a D instead of an O.

777 is right.i would leave them alone.as little as.010 in.of material taken away from the wrong place or places could definately hurt flow.

yeah those are the two places you do not want to mess with.the port floor on the exhaust is very important, and the injector cutout on the intake is kind of a "dead area",and you will only be making a bigger "dead area",that would disturb flow in this area even more.dont touch em.

It is as they say, wouldnt touch em. The exhaust port on the Patriot 243s are almost identical to they way I do that style casting. The intake ports as you ask will be covered up by the intake mostly so thats not an issue either.
