Default Installed TR 224......question

We just installed the TR 224 cam and upgraded the valvetrain and my other mods are in my sig. Whenever my car is idling or just sitting still it smokes pretty bad out of the exhaust. Is this normal from a cam swap or something I should be concerned about. I'm thinking about adding some hi-flow cats to my duals...would this stop the smoking? But the car drives great....except for dying when in idle because it isn't tuned yet.

It's probably rich as hell. Tune it and see if it stops.

Okay we went out and double checked and it's actually more of a gray smoke, which should just mean its running rich..right?

well I'll be getting a TSP mail order tune for now because I want to wait until I get my converter to get it Dyno tuned and hopefully that will get rid of most of it. I don't think the people behind me at stop lights enjoy being covered in fumes

I'll also be adding hi-flow cats soon

Dexcool seems to have distinctive smell when being burned. My Mother's late 98 Z34 Monte Carlo 3.8L began burning it and it was a very noticeable smell. I hope all is well.

yeah, if it was a head gasket, he'd know. you can smell that stuff. its probably burning some oil. did you mess with the valveguide seals at all?

Whatever it is, I highly doubt its the tune. The comp picks up on that stuff via the O2s and compensates but adding or dumping fuel. Wont be perfect but it wouldnt smoke like that. Either way I think you gotta go back in and recheck. I know it sucks but sometimes you just gotta.
