Default Stock or Modd?

Recently traded in the 04 goat for a 02 WS6. From what I can tell is completele stock except CAGS eliminator. I know this might be a lop-sided question but I ask anyway. Is there anyone here Stock and gonna keep it that way or Full modded wit cam, head, gears...etc and wish they were stock?

I sure that most that have modded wish they hadn't some days. It is a slippery slope because you are never satisfied. The lure of adding more hp is a curse to the bank account.
Go and find the thread "How much have you spent on you car" and you will see what I mean.
You could just through on a set of headers and stop there.

But I don't think so.

just on body work alone on my truck ive spent like less than 2k, because i did it myself. and an ls1 swap into my s10 is gonna cost around 8k after all the goodies ill add. stock is a dirty word to me at this point in my life, im 18 i have spent just about every dime on my truck. im sure ****'ll change when i get a family. lol. when it comes down to it, its your car, do what you want to it. i know im gonna dread having an ls1 in my truck because then I have to store it away for winter as per my emissions(gar!). do what you want mang.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you trade in the first place? Not saying it was a bad thing because I love both cars... I'm just curious...

There was just something missing about that car, had LT, 3.90 gears , TSP 225/225 .589/.589 cam in it with pushrod and 918's. Made 380 rwhp and 350 tq. I'll be honest, I think GM f**ked the 04 guys by putting the LS2 in the 05 and 06 GTO, thats my opinion. The fact that its like 300 lbs more than the Trans AM don't help either. It is a very nice and comfortable car though, but I wished they didn't use the name GTO and used Monaro instead. Bottom line is I love how the WS6 looks! I'll problably stay stock to go solo2.

Nice HP but you would have been better off trading some hp for torque. LS1 Monaro has been in use in Australia since 2001. They have no problem running fast in these cars. True, they prefer speed density over MAFs. Some LT,pulley,TB 04 GTO have done 350+tq.

Do not know how quick you wanted to go.

I like the slippery slope description...when you start modding your car, it turns into a big black hole in your wallet. And it isn't even with **** you'd expect (like a clutch going, rear giving out, tires begging for mercy, O2 sensors taking a **** on you, etc). There are definitely days when I wish my car wasn't modded, but other days I love it (but I'm only at the full bolt-ons stage). But I've already spent more than I'm willing to admit, and still want more. MUCH more. Time I've got. Money...well, not so much.

As for the '02 being worth something in a few years, I'll give that a hearty too.

But I don't think so.
this is exactly what i tell everyone who asks me whether to stay stock or not.
once you start you'll never be satisfied, after your first mod you'll say to yourself "this is all i need, i just want i little edge over stock" and that last for about a month. then you need a little edge over that.
if you race, IMO it's a lot easier to take a loss if your stock than if your modded. i think it's easier to enjoy a stock car for what it is, STOCK, than to enjoy a modded car for a little while but still need more.

Even if you don't wanna go wild, I AT LEAST say make it a bolt on car...Stuff that won't hurt the driveability, gas mileage, and will make it a TON more fun to drive...
