Default Quick opinion on tr224

I am down to a TR224/224 .563 cam, but I have to decide between the 112 and the 114 lsa. Am I correct that the 114 will idle better and have less lope than the 112? Is there even much of a difference between the two? Will they both pass emissions? And yes I checked the sticky, I was just wondering what the general concensus was...

Putting the cam in a ws6 with headers, ls6 intake, catback, lid...Not a daily driver, but don't want to sacrifice drivablilty too much...thanks

114 will idle better and will pass emissions while the 112 will make slightly more power and has a greater possibility of not passing a smog test. It's typically recommended that an M6 gets the 112 and an A4 get the 114. Since emissions are an issue, 114 would be a better bet because it's easier to pass with it.

The big differences are:

Over the same RPM range, the 114 will have power slightly higher in the RPM range (maybe 500 or so). The 112 will deliver the power lower in the band, better off idle power but dies off at high RPM.

The 112 will have more lope than the 114 but its not a huge diff.

A 112 will only pass emissions with a good tune. If you don't know of a shop around you that has dealt with emmisions stick with the 114.

First off, I have an M6, forgot to mention that. I will be getting a tune from a great shop. And Radkon, I heard your clip, sounds great, but I am guessing that is before a tune-it might be too lopey for me. Anyone have a clip of a 114? Thanks for the info so far...

I have that cam in my car and I love it. The lope is perfect I couldn't have had picked a better one. Its not my daily driver but I wish it was. I do have some idle issues only with the AC on but I'm getting that takeing care of.

Car goes in on Tuesday, had to make the call-I went with the 114. The 112 might have been the better cam, but considering they are similar power, the 114 was safer as far as I won't be upset with the sound or drivablilty....

Yep that is pre tune, idle around 650 RPM. Still haven't had it tuned as I'm not driving it. Probably in early March.

Keep in mind I have a high flow side exhaust and LT headers with cats.
