Just as the title. Whats the difference between a solid roller and hydraulic roller setup. Thanks

A solid lifter allows you to run a much more harsh lobe profile as compared to a hydraulic. You also don't have any "give" in the solid lifter allowing you to use 100% of the camshaft. Only downfall to the solid is getting the lash set properly and maintaing the lash at oil change intervals. Also th ecost is a little more on the solid.

Why does the lash keep needing to be reset? What is it that wears or loosens?

I was also curious on solid roller set ups. is it really that big of a problem with the lash adjustment?
