Default Mti 2e/x1

what do you guys think of this setup for a daily driver street car. i think the specs on the X1 are 230/227 591/571/ . from what ive seen it seems like every car that has this setup on MTI's site is pushing 440rwhp. just wanting to get feedback on this setup.

i have this set up. i haven't been able to get a good run (no tires yet) and i haven't had it dynoed. I am going to try and get it dyno tuned within the next couple of weeks. will let you know. I ran a 13.00 with street tires at 108 with around a 2.2 60 ft. i also hit the rev limiter in 1-2 and 2-3 shifts.

yeah man, u gotta let me know. im wit ya orangepeel. it seems like that 2e and x1 is a pretty potent setup. its putting down some really impressive numbers. on mti site, all those cars are practically running the 2e and x1 and are putting down 440rwhp.. i really wanna run mti stuff, but its just some people say that there heads arent all that great and some say they are good heads for the price. my car is a daily driver street car that will never see the track!! so if anybody else can put in their .02 cents...much appreciated

i would combine afr205s + g5x3 (114) for a strong street setup.

i think some guy had a similar setup (can't remember which intake) and put down like 461rwhp with it. good thing is, everyone knows that the x3 is not a peaky cam...

man i have a MTI motor in my car and am quite happy. its head cam and it runs 11.8 on the motor with the nitrous tune. havent got a motor tune for it yet but should drop a couple tenths i would think. mine is a daily driver and i believe my cam is bigger than the x-1. i think the setup u are talkin about would b good for daily driver. i drive mine everywhere and have no issues what so ever.

I've got to resurrect this thread as I'm currently thinking about adding the MTI stage 2e heads to go along with my X1 cam.

Comments from any others running this set up?

i wanna know bout this setup too. im pretty much leaning towards this setup. i was also wondering how the MTI 2R heads would be with the x1. i hear the 2R is supposed to be for bigger cubes. but wouldnt that make more sense to go with a bigger flowing head to allow more airflow?

With the 243 castings cheap as hell on the market (LS2 casting), The X1 with TSP Stage 2.5 milled would be killer and cheaper than true LS6 castings (they are the same).

You'd probably build more peak hp, but I'm guessing you would lose a little low end and significant mid range power. Not a bad thing if you're race only, but on a daily driver I wouldn't want to make that sacrifice.

Good question... I think they're one of the best, if not the best, in the business. Maybe its the price?

well i think the MTI 2E are like 1700 bucks. but they come with a 1 year warranty. something that the other heads dont offer. and MTI has been in the business pretty long to not have some good heads. they are a little more than the patriots, but alot cheaper than the AFR! another thing i wanted to ask the ls1 gurus, is hand ported better than cnc ported? i know 3 other sponsors that i had talk to bout heads, and they say that hand port is better than cnc?

I ran mid 11`s with the X1 and a set of MTI heads on my 346. Loved it. The X1 sounds awsome and good power. Go for it. I stayed with that set-up, then put a 100 shot on it and ran 10.7`s all day long! Full race weight was 3800lbs in TRUE street trim.

X1 is a great cam. Make sure you exhaust system is a good one as the reverse splits need it.
